Wolf Lake to host 37th Harvest Festival August 20-21

“We have around 10 candidates in all three divisions for our Friday night competition,” said event organizer Andrea Yliniemi.

A new Miss, Miss Junior and Little Miss Wolf Lake will all be crowned in the contest, which takes place at 6:30 p.m. on Friday, August 20 in Wolf Lake Lions Hall.

The contest will also have a silent auction at Lions Hall from 6 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. on Friday and again from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturday.

At the Wolf Lake Liquor Store, Harvest Fest attendees can enjoy meat raffles, open pool contests and bean bags starting at 5:30 pm In addition, the beer garden will be open.

“We also have three food vendors this year,” Yliniemi said. “There’s the VFW Auxiliary, the Bloue Line BBQ and the Wolf Lake Woodchucks 4-H will serve ice cream. “

The Susi Jarvi charm hunt will also begin on Friday, with clues offered in both the Sebeka Review-Messenger and the Frazee-Vergas Forum.

“That’s all we have for Friday night,” Yliniemi said, adding that most of the events will take place on Saturday, August 21.

The festivities begin with a 5 km walk / run at 8 a.m., when the community blood drive begins at the Lutheran Apostolic Church in Spruce Grove. Auxiliary Wolf Lake VFW will serve breakfast in Lions Hall from 8 a.m. to 10:30 a.m., and the Car and Tractor Show will open at 10 a.m. in the parking lot of the Klondike / Kinnunen store. In the nearby grassed area, there will be an inflatable house open from 10 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.

There will be a children’s pedal tractor pull starting at 11 a.m. in front of the liquor store, and that’s when the makeup kiosk will also be open for business next to ice cream stand 4. -H.

The Harvest Fest Parade begins at 2 p.m. and the Beanbag Toss Tournament begins at 3 p.m. Mud Pit, and the Mud Run starts at 5 p.m. in the northeast corner of Mud Pit.

That evening, the Unmentionables will perform for the Harvest Fest Street Dance, which kicks off outside the liquor store at 8 p.m.
