YEREVAN, APRIL 13, ARMENPRESS. On April 12, Artsakh Republic President Arayik Harutyunyan met with regional administration officials, community leaders and active representatives of the population in the city of Martakert, his office said.
Recent geopolitical developments and, in this context, the current military-political situation in Artsakh, as well as security and socio-economic issues were on the agenda of the discussions.
In his speech, the Head of State referred to the recent provocative actions of the enemy in the Parukh community and the Karaglukh height of the Askeran region, noting that the negotiations with the Russian General Staff to maintain the deployed in Artsakh for the withdrawal of Azerbaijani troops are underway. At the same time, Arayik Harutyunyan stressed that ensuring a relative and fragile peace in the conflict zone is possible thanks to the Russian peacekeeping forces, and the people and authorities of Artsakh are convinced that their presence must be guaranteed and indefinite with the increase in military and military. equipment accordingly.
The President reaffirmed the commitment of the Artsakh authorities to the struggle for the independence and state-building of the Republic of Artsakh on the basis of the peoples’ right to self-determination, and underlined that at the same time guarantees and activities of the Russian peacekeeping contingent, the government will continue to improve its own security mechanisms and the effectiveness of the civil protection system.
The Head of State also addressed the issues of ensuring energy and food security, noting that work is already underway to develop solar energy, ensure the rational use of small hydroelectric plants, forests and other resources. natural, and land. According to Arayik Harutyunyan, in accordance with the sketched program, the works for the improvement of sub-regional and intra-community roads will be carried out.
After the meeting, President Harutyunyan, accompanied by the pastor of Martakert, Father Hovhannes Hovhannisyan, visited the Church of St. John the Baptist in Martakert and participated in the common prayer conducted in the churches of the Artsakh diocese of Armenian Apostolic Church.
