Vote Zanu PF, or leave my church; Mwazha says to his followers

The VERY influential leader of one of the largest indigenous religious denominations in the country, Paul Mwazha, issued an ultimatum to his adherents to vote for Zanu PF risk being excommunicated.

In an undated video shared on social media, a Zanu PF member wearing the Zimbabwean scarf of President Emmerson Mnangagwa tells hundreds of church members that their leader, Mwazha had asked them to get rid of any limbs of the church which does not support the ruling party. .

“The African Apostolic Church is the one who prays for the nation. For this country to know peace, you are the ones who pray, you are the ones who pray for President Emmerson Mnangagwa. Your Paul Mwazha has told all African apostolics, anyone who votes against Zanu PF will be kicked out of the church, ”said the unidentified man.

“None of you will be harassed while we’re there, as long as the president is there, I’ll go tell him if there’s anything bothering you.” “

The African Apostolic Church of Mwazha maintained relations with Zanu PF due to the large numbers under its control.

Its annual services and festivals have in the past been used for Zanu PF campaigns, with the late President Robert Mugabe, Mnangagwa and other ruling party members attending its rallies.
