Hazrat Ahmadasthe Promised Messiah and Imam Mahdi, gave several arguments proving the disappearance of the Prophet Jesusas and his being a man and a prophet of God instead of God. Among the many arguments proving that the Prophet Jesus was a man of God, an argument presented by Hazrat Ahmadas was it hazrat maryamas had children besides Jesusas. The Promised Messiahas stated this argument in many places in his writings.
Some Muslims oppose this fact, incite others against Hazrat Ahmadas and write vile things against him. They say that since the Holy Quran did not mention and name the other children of Hazrat Maryam, therefore the Prophet Jesusas cannot have other siblings. They further add that if Hazrat Ahmadas provides evidence of any other book apart from the Holy Quran, then it will be an insult to the Holy Quran.
The Holy Quran is “a perfect book” and “a guide for the righteous”. It is not a history book where events are continuously recounted, nor does the Holy Quran record the genealogy of the mentioned people and personalities mentioned therein. The Holy Quran is a book of guidance from Allah, the Lord of Knowledge and Wisdom. If necessary to achieve the purpose of its revelation, the Holy Quran mentions some subjects in detail but it is not an encyclopedia.
At that time, one of the various missions that Allah the Almighty assigned to the Promised Messiahas – which was also prophesied by the Holy Prophether of Islam – is the breaking of the cross. The breaking of the cross, as explained by Hazrat Allama ibn Hajarright, means that the religion of Christianity would become ineffective. (Fath-ul-BariSharah Sahih al-Bukhari)
So, Hazrat Ahmadas revealed to the world the correct position and status of Jesusasthe son of Maryas and a prophet of God, so that the erroneous and deceptive beliefs propagated by the enemies of the truth may be corrected.
Shedding light on various beliefs that different religions have about the Prophet JesusasHazrat Maulvi Abdur Rahim Dardra writing :
“The Jews as a body still persist in their false belief that Jesusas was an impostor and therefore died on the cross as a criminal. Christian churches continue to believe that he died a cursed death on the cross and rose from the dead because he was God’s only begotten son. Muslims cling to their dying belief that Jesusas is still alive in heaven with his physical body. (Ahmad’s life, p. 314)
The Promised Messiahas showed Christians the reality of Jesusas through their gospels and mentioned the powers of the real and mighty God who is Lord of all the worlds. For example, while writing on this specific topic, in one place, Hazrat Ahmadas said:
“How then is it permissible to attribute such slander to the Almighty God, who is eternal and everlasting, that having been eternally perfect in his being, self-sufficient and almighty, he finally became dependent on such a son defective and has completely lost His Glory and His Greatness? I certainly do not believe that any wise man allows himself to imagine such ignominies concerning the Perfect Being who unites in Himself all the perfect attributes.
“It is clear that if the events [in the life] of Ibn-e-Maryam [the Son of Mary] are stripped of absurd and futile praise, the gist of the true facts of his life according to the Gospel is that he was, like other human beings, a humble, weak, and imperfect man and that he was one of the disciples-prophets of Hazrat Musaas [Moses].” (Barahin-e-Ahmadiyya, flight. 4, p. 205-206)
In Qadian, open-air speeches and escalating allegations were commonplace. In such a situation, Hazrat Ahmadas answered with eloquence and reason. For example, in the aforementioned reference, while giving other logical and simple arguments, Huzooras mentioned the brothers and sisters of Jesusas and argued:
“Furthermore, is it possible that of the five children born to the same mother, i.e. Maryam [Mary] – one became the son of God, and even God himself, while the remaining four poor people received no part of the Divinity? The precept of reason is that if God can be born from a created being – unlike a human being born from a human and an ass from a donkey – then whenever a god is created from the womb of ‘a woman, no created being should be born from the same womb; rather, all children born from it must be gods so that this sacred womb remains unblemished from creature association and is a mine exclusively for the birth of gods. According to the speculation mentioned above, it was necessary for the siblings of Hazrat Masih [Jesus] should have partaked somewhat of the Godhead, and the mother of the five should have been honored as nothing but the “God of the gods,” because all these five personalities received their spiritual and physical faculties from her. » (Barahin-e-Ahmadiyya, flight. 4, p. 206-207)
Opponents of Hazrat Ahmadas say that here the Promised Messiahas openly slandered Hazrat Maryam, these opponents not only resort to foul and despicable language, but also incite others with their lies and futile understanding. The Promised Messiahas responds to these claims:
“Anyone who claims that I do not venerate the Messiah son of Mary is malicious and a liar.
“I honor not only the Messiah, but also his four brothers, because all five were sons of the same mother. I also consider his two biological sisters as pious, because they all came from the womb of the Blessed Virgin Mary. (Noah’s ark, p. 31)
In the footnote of the excerpt produced above, Huzooras writing :
“Christ the Messiah had four brothers and two sisters who were related to Christ by blood and who were the children of Joseph and Mary. The names of his four brothers are Judas, James, Simon and Joseph. The names of her two sisters are Assia and Lydia. See Apostolic Records by Father John Allen Giles, London, 1886, pp. 159, 166. (Noah’s ark, p. 31)
Since most opponents of the Promised Messiahas – it is clear from their arguments – have very little to do with knowledge, research and historical books, they are not ashamed to slander and raise arguments on a whim. For example, by listing the aforementioned passage, opponents allege that Hazrat Ahmadas slandered Jesusas and his mother Maryas saying she later married and had children; although Yusuf Najjar, called Joseph, the husband of Mary, is also mentioned in the Bible.
Hazrat Ahmadas also mentions James, the brother of Jesus of Nazareth, who became overseer of his mission after Jesusasbut Paul did not let him succeed and skillfully rejected Jesus’ missionas turn people against the Holy Temple. Hazrat Ahmadas writing :
“Jesus’as brother James, son of Maryas, was a righteous man. He followed the Torah in everything, believed that God was One without any partner, considered pork flesh illegal, faced the Holy Temple in prayer – as was the custom of Jews – and considered himself a Jew in everything, with the exception of his belief in the prophecy of Jesusas.” (Fountain of Christianity, p. 54)
Jesus’ brothersas were mentioned by Hazrat Ahmadas on various occasions. Huzuras writes that Jesusas was a humble man and subject to all human weaknesses. Huzuras added that he had four brothers and two sisters. (Tazkira-tush-Shahadatain, Rouhani Khazain, Vol. 20, p. 25)
Clerics inciting ordinary people against the Promised Messiahas do not know that a simple reading of the Bible will reveal how many brothers and sisters the Prophet Jesusas had.
Many Bible verses mention the brothers of Jesus. Matthew 12:46, Luke 8:19 and Mark 3:31 state that the mother and brothers of the prophet Jesus come to meet him. The Bible tells us that “James, Joseph, Simon and Judas were the four brothers of Jesus”. (Matthew 13:55) The Bible also tells us about the sisters of the Prophet Jesus but does not mention their number or their names. (Matthew 13:56) Galatians 1:19 states that James was the brother of the prophet Jesusas. A summary of these references asserts that the Prophet Jesusas had real brothers and sisters through Joseph and Mary.
Some Roman Catholics claim that these brothers of the Prophet Jesusas were actually his cousins. However, in each passage, a specific Greek word for “brother” is used. Although the word can also refer to other relatives, its traditional and literal meaning is “true biological brother”. There is another specific Greek word for “cousin”, but this word is not used to refer to Jesus’ brothers. Moreover, if they were cousins of Jesusaswhy are they often mentioned with Maryas, the mother of Jesus? When Jesus’ mother and his brothers come to visit him, there is nothing in the context of this account to indicate that these people were other than Jesus’ true brothers.
There is no biblical evidence to confirm that these brothers and sisters of Jesusas were other than the true children of Joseph and Maryas. Those who oppose the idea that Jesusas had no brothers and sisters are not correct according to the Bible.
Some opponents of Hazrat Ahmadas deny that the Prophet Jesusas had siblings. They argue that the Holy Quran states that no man touched Maryas. They simply object to this fact because of the concept of Mary being “a virgin”. Their theory of Mary’s “eternal virginity” is also not correct in light of the teachings of the Holy Quran, as the verse that states “no man touched” only refers to the miraculous birth of Jesus. .as.
