House hosts JIL on the 44th anniversary of its founding – Manila Bulletin


The House of Representatives on Tuesday evening (September 27) congratulated the Worldwide Church of Jesus is Lord (JIL) on the occasion of its 44th founding anniversary, saying that the organization “deserves special recognition from the people of the Philippines for its healing and inspiring ministry that promotes Christian values ​​and tradition”.

The lower house welcomed the group through House Resolution (HR) No. 420, which was passed by the plenary just before Tuesday’s session adjourned.

“Four decades later, JIL Church Worldwide remains committed to fulfilling its apostolic and prophetic mission in the country…This year’s anniversary theme, ‘Arise and Build’, encourages members of JIL Church Worldwide to contribute to building a resilient and progressive nation by spreading hope and positivity amid crisis and suffering,” the resolution reads.

The measure was drafted by House Speaker Martin Romualdez, House Majority Leader and Zamboanga City Representative Manuel Jose “Mannix” Dalipe, House Minority Leader and 4Ps Party List Representative. Marcelino Libanan, Senior Deputy Majority Leader and representative of Ilocos Norte Sandro Marcos, and representatives of the Tingog party list. Yedda Marie Romualdez and Jude Acidre.

JIL is led by evangelist and representative of the Citizens’ Battle Against Corruption (CIBAC) party list, Eduardo “Bro. Eddie” Villanueva.

Founded in 1978 by famed Pastor Villanueva, a former vice president, JIL has grown from its original 15 members to one of the largest biblical and Christ-centered churches in the world, by measure.

“The JIL Church Worldwide has launched a massive evangelistic campaign to cover all major cities not only in the Philippines but all over the world, and has established chapters in Europe, the United States of America, the Canada, North Africa and Asia”, added.
