Halloween Events in Southwest Georgia.


ALBANY, Ga. (WALB) – Halloween is just a few days away, but the festivities are already underway.

Several counties in southwest Georgia are already gearing up for Halloween.


Sisters in Service of Southwest Georgia is hosting the “Fall Rock-tober Fest” on Sunday October 31st. They will be at Bessie Mae Circle Park at 3 p.m. “Rocking the Vote” will feature a live band and food trucks. It’s 4:30 to 7:30 p.m. at the Americus Train Depot, 329 S. Jackson Street. Prizes will be awarded for the best decorated trunk and the best costume. Masks are compulsory.


The city of Albany has designed Saturday, October 30 from 7 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. to trick or treat.

Boo at the zoo will take place at Chehaw Park on October 30 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. The event is included in zoo admission and free for Chehaw, Flint RiverQuarium or Thronateeska members.

Byne Memorial Baptist Church will have Trunk or treat Sunday October 31 from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m.

Albany State University RAM Raid takes place on October 28 from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at 504 College Drive.

American Legion Extension 512 will have a Halloween drive-thru event for kids on Sunday, Oct. 31 from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Candy, treat bags and donations are accepted until Saturday. Disembarkation is at 815 Willie Pitts Jr. Road.


St. James Baptist Church in Baconton will be the reception of the Hallelujah festival Sunday October 31 from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m.

There will be a community barbecue, gifts of clothing and candy for the children.

The food will include steaks, chicken, breast, ribs and sides.

The church is located at 144 MLK Drive.


Bainbridge will host a Munchkin masquerade and a Trunk or Treat event at Willis Park from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. Registration for the costume contest begins at 4:30 p.m. and the competition begins at 5:00 p.m.


Dawson Country Club will host a Halloween party on Saturday, featuring “Costumes & Cocktails, Mischief & Mayhem”. It’s $ 10 for members and $ 20 for non-members.

There will be a suit competition for kids, as well as burgers and hot dogs.

The event will take place on Sunday October 31 at the Dawson Country Club.


The town is Douglas observes trick or treat from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. on Sunday.

General Coffee State Park Heritage Park in Nicholls will be transformed into the town of Gristleberry for the special occasion on Saturdays from 6 p.m. to 11 p.m. There will be an escape room, vendors, a haunted house, and hay walks.


Trick or treat in Lee County will be Saturday from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m.


The 4th annual Truck or Treat event for Baptist Church of Antioch will take place on October 31 from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m. Sweets, games and hot dogs will be available.


The Thomasville YMCA will host a drive-thru trick or treat event from 5 to 7 p.m. at the Francis F. Weston YMCA at 416 W. Clay Street.


People are already enthusiastic about several Halloween Events in Valdosta and County Lowndes, some of which begin Thursday, October 28.

The Worth County School Board is hosting a Trunk or Treat Drive-Thru event. It’s October 28 from 6 to 7:30 p.m. Enter North Isabella Street from Hwy 82 and exit on North Main Street.
