FIREWORKS RETURN TO RARITAN BAY!
Joint cities announce their city-wide events to celebrate Independence Day.
PERTH AMBOY, NJ (MAY 20, 2022): Mayor Helmin J. Caba of the City of Perth Amboy and Mayor Fred Henry of the City of South Amboy today announced the fireworks display and local festivities as part of the traditional 4th of July celebration on Saturday, July 2, 2022, along Raritan Bay. Barry Rosengarten, Chairman of Celebrate Perth Amboy, Co-Chairman Mickey Gross, Chairman of South Amboy Council, and William Petrick, Chairman of Perth Amboy Council, also joined Father Ivan Turyk of Assumption Catholic Church, staff at the city and the Cornucopia sponsors. Cruise Line’s Charles Riverboat (at dock).
“Our July 2 Independence Day celebration and fireworks show would not be possible without the generosity of all of our sponsors,” said Barry Rosengarten. “They invest in our event, but more importantly, they invest in and are part of our communities.”
The 25-minute fireworks program, scheduled for 9:20 p.m. over Raritan Bay, will launch over 3,000 shells and effects, including twinkles, strobes and whistles, with various colors synchronized to a musical compilation patriotic produced by Garden State Fireworks. Mayors announced, in addition to this year’s fireworks program, local celebrations including food trucks, arts and crafts vendors and live music starting at 3 p.m. on Sadowski Parkway in Perth Amboy and Raritan Bay Waterfront Park in South Amboy.
“We are ready to celebrate with renewed hope and a tribute to the bravery and extraordinary achievements of our country,” said Mayor Helmin J. Caba. Thanks to our generous sponsors, and the City of South Amboy, we are continuing this great tradition.

The best views to enjoy the spectacular Celebrate Stars & Stripes fireworks show will be from Sadowski Parkway in Perth Amboy, Raritan Bay Waterfront Park in South Amboy, or the comfort of home on Raritan Yacht Club Facebook Live @cityofperthamboy. Fox Sports New Jersey 93.5 FM/ 1450 AM will play the soundtrack synchronized with the fireworks.
