A celebration of the Watermen with live music, speed single scull racing and mooring boats!

After a year of hiatus from COVID-19, the annual boat mooring competition event will return as Crab Slam, hosted by the Shanty and Cape Charles Harbor & Marina!

The Shanty will close its parking lot on Saturday July 31 and Sunday August 01 to accommodate retail, food, wine and beer vendors. There will be an outdoor stage for live music for the duration of the event.

Sunday 8/1 is the only day tickets are required! It’s one of the biggest days of the year in Cape Charles, the Boat Docking Contest!

Are you a home schooled family on the shore? Thinking of homeschooling for the fall? This event is for you! We will have information on how to start home schooling and experts to guide you through the application process, how to choose the study program and support for the trip. We will have tables with used study programs for sale, study program brochures, registrations for local field trips, and information on local co-op programs and other community events! If you love to play baseball, the elite Eastern Shore baseball team will be testing Saturday from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. and Sunday, August 1 from 3 to 5 at the Little League Central Accomack field in Onancock.

The Glorious Church of Jesus Christ of the Apostolic Faith, Inc is holding its annual Friends and Family Day on Sunday August 1, 2021 at 3:00 p.m. at our local church located at Boundary Ave and School Street in Onancock, Virginia. you are invited to come out and commune with us.

The Wachapreague Volunteer Fire Department has announced the opening of its Carnival ice cream stand on Saturdays and Sundays in July.

Saturday from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. July 31.

Come to Wachapreague, have a great meal at Island House Restaurant, and stop by the Wachapreague Carnival grounds for dessert!

“The Art of Willie Crockett and Virginia’s Eastern Shore” will premiere on Maryland Public Television on August 1 at 4:30 p.m. and on MPT2 on August 2 at 8:30 p.m. The film has been edited, improved and captioned for a special half-hour TV version and will also soon be released online.
