CAC youth ask for prayers for peaceful 2023 elections

The youth of the Christ Apostolic Church (CAC) in Abuja have asked Nigerians to intensify their prayers for the peaceful conduct of the 2023 general elections.

They said so during the Abuja National Mega Praise, organized by the church on Sunday.

Temilade Gideon, a youth from the Gwagwalada district of the church, called on Nigerians, especially the leaders, to ensure all forms of differences that may hinder the success of the elections.

“We must pray to God for guidance as we head towards the general elections of 2023. The young people want progress for this country. We call on Nigerians, especially our leaders, to ensure that we have free and fair elections. fair,” Ms. Gideon said. “We also pray along these lines to make sure our dreams come true.”

Additionally, Israel Pius, CAC Karu District, called on the National Guidance Agency (NOA) and the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to ensure adequate voter education ahead of the 2023 elections.

“We are optimistic that with proper sensitization from NOA, our youth would avoid any form of violence. We look forward to seeing a Nigeria that works. A Nigeria that other African countries would love to learn from,” Mr. Pius said.

INEC has announced February 25 as presidential and National Assembly elections, while gubernatorial and National Assembly elections will now be held on March 11, 2023.

INEC Chairman Mahmood Yakub said the new dates followed President Muhammadu Buhari’s signing of amendments to the electoral bill.

The commission had previously announced February 18 for the presidential election.
