A new program launched by the National Nurses League in Partnership with Johnson & Johnson, will allow Bowie State University Nursing Students to get a head start on developing leadership and workplace skills to ensure greater success when they step into their first positions in the field. “Transition of Nursing Students at Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs) to Clinical Practice“is a program that will bring a multi-faceted one-year program into leadership development To Bowie State and five others HBCUs that offer four-year Bachelor of Nursing degrees.   2. Laurel Park track remains partially closed because the work on the main track in Laurel Park is underway. On Monday, horses were only allowed to gallop on the outer part of the track, without authorized workers. It is not yet known when the track will be able to fully reopen.   3. The pandemic now spans two years and the need food is higher for people who have lost their jobs or receive a lower income. In an effort to meet this need, volunteers with five public security agencies in Prince George County Holiday food wrappers wrapped and distributed to families and seniors across the county Monday.
